Kore Connect.

Four days of movement, recovery and quiet for ten women, with the run of a 1,100-acre property.

  • Ten guests
  • Four days, three nights
  • The whole property
  • Hosted by Kore Essentials

The brief

One host, ten guests, and nobody else on the property.

Kath Evans of Kore Essentials came to Caoura Cliffs with a four-day Pilates and wellness retreat and a group of ten women. She brought the program, the practitioners and the guests. We gave her the property.

That is the whole shape of a retreat here. The Homestead to sleep and eat in, the Pavilion for the sessions that need a floor and a sound system, the escarpment for the ones that don't, and 1,100 acres between them with no other booking on the land.

Everything below is what the four days actually ran to.

How the property was used

Three settings, one booking.

The restored Homestead at Caoura Cliffs under old gums

Where the group lived

The Homestead

Ten guests across the bedrooms, with the long outdoor table for every dinner, the pool terrace for stretch and restore, and the fire pit for the evening wind-down. The kitchen took a private chef three nights running. Most of the retreat happened here.

Where it opened and closed

The Cliffs

The group was driven out to the escarpment on the first afternoon for the opening movement session, then sat on in a circle as the light went. Early risers walked back out for sunrise on the mornings after.

Where the work got done

The Pavilion

The sessions that needed weights, an open floor and a sound system: the strength circuits, the afternoon Pilates, the nutrition workshop and breathwork, and the farewell dinner on the last night. A short drive from the Homestead, across the property.

The four days

How it ran.

The host set the program and led every session. Our part was the property, the access and the timing that made it possible.

  1. Day one

    Thursday

    Arrive and settle in

Staggered arrivals through the afternoon, a grazing board waiting, and a welcome tour of the rooms. The group was driven out to the escarpment for an opening movement session and stayed on for the intention circle. Dinner ran long at the outdoor table, then hot chocolate by the fire.

  2. Day two

    Friday

    Strengthen and expand

An optional sunrise walk before breakfast, then a strength session in the Pavilion and journalling straight after it. The afternoon split the group in half between a beading workshop and the sauna and ice bath, and swapped them over after lunch. Stretch and restore on the pool terrace, dinner, and stargazing at the fire.

  3. Day three

    Saturday

    Go deeper

A slow start, a strength circuit, then a guided six-kilometre hike out across the estate trails. Free afternoon for the sauna, the ice bath and the pool. Pilates late in the day, a nutrition workshop and breathwork after it, and the farewell dinner in the Pavilion.

  4. Day four

    Sunday

    Integrate and carry home

Sunrise breathwork for whoever wanted it, a final breakfast together, and a closing session on the grass by the pool. A group reflection, closing words from the host, and everyone away by half past twelve.

What it took

The part that isn't on the timetable.

A retreat is not a venue hire with yoga on it. Four days of catering, recovery and movement across three buildings needs the property behind it, and most of that work is invisible by design.

Exclusive use, four days

No other booking on the land across the retreat dates, and no other group sharing a building, a track or a view.

A kitchen a chef can work in

Sydney Private Chef cooked for the group across the retreat, working out of the Homestead kitchen and leaving breakfasts and lunches set for the mornings after.

Power for recovery

Rec Pod brought a mobile sauna and ice bath onto the property. It draws more than the property supplies, so it ran off a hired silent inverter generator, collected, fuelled and monitored across the four days.

Movement in three places

Mats and equipment moved between the escarpment, the Pavilion and the Homestead terrace, with the Pavilion opened, lit and sound-tested ahead of every session.

Trails, marked and briefed

A six-kilometre route across the estate, marked before the walk and briefed with the group, plus a property orientation and safety briefing on arrival.

A wet-weather answer for everything

Every outdoor session had an indoor equivalent already identified. Nothing on the program depended on the forecast.

Ten women, four days, and the whole escarpment to themselves.

Host your own

The property takes a small number of retreats each year.

One group at a time, with the buildings, the trails and the escarpment held for them. Tell us the shape of your program and we will tell you honestly whether the property fits it.
